College Writing 11/12

This course covers the fundamentals of college writing, including expository essay patterns and the argumentative essay. Emphasis is placed upon developing a coherent thesis, writing concisely, and adapting the student’s writing to a particular audience. In addition, it fosters an appreciation of diversity, analyzing how unique perspectives shape reading, writing, and critical thinking. This course also addresses the proper use of grammar, appropriate word choice, coherence strategies, and strong, active academic writing.
