Academic English 10

Academic English 10 is the required English course for the students not taking Honors English 10. The course focuses on literature study, reading comprehension skills, writing, communication/public speaking, and research. The reading and writing components of the course focus on the theme of heroes and journeys, while the communications portion of the class explores a variety of purposes for speaking, including to inform, to entertain, and to persuade. The research unit culminates with participation in a debate presentation.
