Sociology I

Course Description:
Two major areas of study are emphasized.  First, the student is introduced to major sociological concepts and theories.  This knowledge is then applied to the study of several major social problem areas.  Major areas of attention are:  general concepts, sociological research, socialization, and social interaction.  Students are encouraged to strive for a better understanding of themselves and others as they learn about the social processes that shape people's lives.
