Course Description:
This course is a required course for all eight grade students. This class is 9 weeks and involved applying the Principles of Design to a variety of media. All art work completed in class is graded using the MC grading scale and it is important to make up work when absent. Students are expected to stay in assigned seats at all times and follow instruction of the teacher. Materials for all assignments are provided. 
 
At the end of this course the student will be able to utilize the elements and principles of design in the creation of their own artwork. Their drawing and composition skills should show improvement in realistic rendering of objects and images. The students will have experimented with many different types of art materials and techniques, such as watercolor, scratchboard, drawing, and clay.
