NCAA Eligibility

NCAA Eligibility and Academic Requirements

The NCAA determines an athlete’s academic eligibility using a combination of their SAT/ACT scores, high school coursework and core course GPA.  Each College or University has a list of approved NCAA core courses that meet eligibility requirements. There is a slight variation in the requirements for Division 1 and Division 2 schools, but if you meet the Division 1 requirements, you will also be eligible at the Division 2 level.  Division 3 schools do not have core course specific requirements.

The NCAA does not use your entire transcript when determining eligibility and GPA. They are only concerned with core courses (Math, English, Science, Social Studies). Students who choose to take four college preparatory courses in each core area will satisfy the NCAA requirements.
