American Conflicts

Course Description:
This elective concentrates on the causes, events and consequences of the first and second World Wars as well as the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts. Units of study will also include the conflicts in the Middle East and the recent “war on terrorism” Students will be placed in the shoes of great military leaders of these conflicts, be there with the troops as they battle Hitler and island hop with the Marines through the Pacific. Students will take an in depth look at the reasons why President Truman decided to drop “the bomb,” the horrors of the Holocaust and wars effects on society today.
