Course Description:
 Advanced Placement United States History is intended to be the equivalent of a college-level introductory course. This two-semester course traces U.S. History from the Age of Explorers present. Significant themes drawn from political, diplomatic, cultural, social and economic history are studied.

AP United States History is for very serious students. The reading is college-level and there is a lot of it. There will be several required papers on various topics. Tests are both objective and essay, but essays will be emphasized. This class will give you a good idea of what to expect in a college course.

The instructor will be giving a summer assignment to prospective students, which will be due on the first day of class.

Near the end of the second semester, students have the option to take the Advanced Placement Exam. (Fee required for test)
